There is no doubt that 2023 was a favourable year for both affordable and high-end motorcycles in India. However, 2024 is expected to be even more delightful for two-wheeler aficionados since it will be packed with a wider range of launches and record-breaking sales. The Indian auto market will witness the debut of new motorcycle and scooter models across combustion engine and electric vehicle segments. Several new models like the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, the Ducati DesertX Rally, and the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 have already arrived on the market. Let's have a look at some other motorcycle debuts planned for the rest of the year.

BMW R 1300 GS
The R 1300 GS was supposed to make its premiere towards the end of last year, but it appears that BMW had to reschedule the launch timeline. The flagship ADV from BMW Motorrad will now likely arrive on the market by the end of May. The German bikemaker currently offers the R 1250 GS in India for Rs 20.55 lakh (ex-showroom). The model has been well-received among Indian bike enthusiasts. However, it is expected that the R 1300 will step it up a notch when it comes to features, hardware, engine, and design. It will feature a bigger 1300cc boxer engine, a redesigned headlight, and a slimmer silhouette. The motor develops 145bhp of maximum power and 149Nm of peak torque. On the transmission front, a six-speed gearbox will be on offer.
Along with standard BMW equipment like ABS, riding modes, and multi-level traction control, the new GS will also have radar-based assistance. Front collision warning, lane change warning, and adaptive cruise control are made possible by this. The bike will further feature the brand's standard Telelever and Paralever springs in the front and rear. The upcoming R 1300 GS would likely cost around Rs 23 lakh (ex-showroom).
Royal Enfield Goan 350 Bobber
In December 2023, Royal Enfield registered the Goan Classic 350 trademark in India. Rumours claim that the forthcoming motorcycle would resemble a retro-bobber and be a scaled-down version of the Classic 350. The word 'Goan' in the name implies that the motorcycle might have unique paint jobs and designs that draw inspiration from the Goan state. The bike will further have a comfortable riding position and wire-spoke wheels with white wall tyres. The Classic 350, which features a 349cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, is probably going to be built on the same J chassis. It is anticipated that more details on the motorcycle—which might be a special edition—will become available soon.
Royal Enfield Hunter 450
Royal Enfield will soon introduce the Hunter 450 in India, built on the brand's new 450cc chassis. Previous spy photographs reveal that the larger and more potent Hunter will be styled similarly to its smaller sibling, with a rounded tank, a sculpted one-piece seat, and circular headlamps. Like the new Himalayan, the Hunter 450 is probably going to have a round TFT instrument console with integrated LED turn indicators for the taillight. Furthermore, the Hunter 450 is likely to be available in showrooms before the end of the year. Upon launch, it is expected to carry an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.60 lakh.

Yezdi Adventure 350
Although Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has already introduced the 2024 versions of the 350 and Perak, the company is still working on updating its whole lineup in India. The 2024 iteration of the Yezdi Adventure—expected to be called the Adventure 350—should make its debut in India in a few months. Thus, late May or early June 2024 is when we should expect it to arrive. Comparing the Adventure Tourer to the outgoing model, there will be a tonne of mechanical and visual enhancements. The bikemaker will most likely offer the new 350cc single-cylinder engine also present on the Jawa 350. This would also result in better thermal management, power delivery, and other improvements.
