The KLX 230 S, Kawasaki's dual-sport motorcycle, has been available in some international markets for quite some time. Like the Ninja 300 and the W175, the Kawasaki KLX 230 S will be heavily localised in our market. Considering that, expect the bike to be priced between Rs 2.20 lakh and Rs 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable dual-sport bike in India.
While Kawasaki hasn't provided a launch date for the upcoming bike, a test mule spotted undergoing testing suggests that it could happen sometime this year or in early 2025. The model spotted appears similar to the one sold abroad; however, it will get some India-specific changes, including a front number plate holder, saree guard and single-piece pillion grabrail. Keeping these essentials in mind, the made-in-India, road-like Kawasaki KLX 230 S could weigh around 140kg, 7kg more than the global-spec model. Seat height and ground clearance stand at 843mm and 239mm, respectively. Notably, the numbers are for the 2024 iteration listed on the company's international website.
