Ducati India has teased a shadowed image of an upcoming motorcycle in India. Visual indicators like the asymmetrically-mounted single instrument cluster pod and the beak-style front mudguard suggest that it is most likely the Scrambler Urban Motard.
Ducati has teased the debut of the new Scrambler Urban Motard in the Indian market. This new iteration will join the existing lineup that includes the Icon, Icon Dark, Nightshift and Desert Sled of the 800cc Ducati Scrambler.
The company’s India wing recently tweeted an image that outlined the silhouette of the new Scrambler Urban Motard. Visual indicators for the same were the asymmetrically-mounted single instrument cluster pod and the beak-style front mudguard. Hence, an India launch is soon to happen, but the company is yet to announce the official date.
Unlike the Ducati Scrambler Sport, Pro, Dark pro and the Tribute Pro, which use the 1100cc engine, the Urban Motard will be powered by the smaller 803cc unit seen in the rest of the range. The engine is an L-twin air-cooled unit that delivers 73hp at 8,250rpm and 66.2Nm at 5,750rpm through a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
In terms of cycle parts, the motorcycle gets a 41mm Kayaba upside-down fork at the front and a pre-load adjustable Kayaba monoshock at the rear. Braking duties on the motorcycle are handled by a 330mm front disc brake with a four-piston calliper and a 245mm rear disc with Bosch’s cornering ABS as standard.
