BMW Motorrad India is all set to launch a new fully-faired motorcycle in its 310-cc portfolio. The company teased the taillight of the motorcycle on social media. The motorcycle will most likely debut on July 15 this year.
The teaser with the motorcycle’s LED taillight suggests that it will get the same unit as the Apache RR 310. In addition to this, BMW’s version of the motorcycle could also be just a rebranded version of the Apache RR 310. This means that the motorcycle will have the same aggressive styling and design ethos. With BMW’s badges, the motorcycle could come with new paint options.
As we know before, major components of the motorcycle will be shared from the TVS offering but we are eager to see if all the features and tech trickeries from the Apache RR 310 will make it to the new BMW offering, considering that BMW has been second in line in bringing new features to its 310-lineup.
In terms of mechanicals, the motorcycle will come with the same 312-cc single-cylinder engine, a liquid-cooled engine that delivers 34bhp and 27.3Nm of torque. Easing the ride, the car comes with a slip and assist clutch along with a six-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle is most likely to come at a premium over the TVS Apache RR 310, which currently costs Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the same price tag that the current-gen streetfighter BMW G 310 R costs. As for the rivalry, the motorcycle will go up against the likes of TVS Apache RR 310, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the KTM RC390 as well.
