Two days ago, Bengaluru-based EV start-up Ultraviolette Automotive launched the F77 Space Edition in the Indian market. The electric motorcycle carries a sticker price of Rs 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Online bookings for the motorcycle began on August 22 at 6 PM, and within an hour of opening its bookings, all 10 units of the Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition have been sold out. The Space Edition is a limited-run version of the F77, which is touted as India's first high-performance electric motorcycle. It comes powered by an electric motor that churns out 40.5bhp of maximum power and 100Nm of peak torque. Ultraviolette claims that the F77 Space Edition can reach up to 100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and will go all the way up to 152km/h. The battery is a 10.3kWh pack, and the 307km IDC-claimed range figure is identical to the riding range of the top-spec Recon variant of the F77.
Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition: Design
On the looks front, the F77 Space Edition comes with a limited-edition paint scheme - 'Cosmic White' with orange and blue accents. This aerospace-grade paint can withstand most adverse circumstances, irrespective of the temperature of airspeed. Even this special white colour is claimed to help the motorcycle perform better by 'reducing drag', owing to its high level of specialisation and ability. Besides, the electric bike employs a strong alloy used in aerospace applications. Called 7075, it is a higher grade of aluminum. Also, the key for the limited-edition version is made out of a single piece of aerospace-grade aluminum.
