Ultraviolette Automotive has upped the charging game for its F77 electric bike with a new DC fast charging infrastructure known as the UV Supernova. The brand-new charging stations feature Supernova (6kW) and Supernova Plus (12kW) chargers, both having type 6 connectors. Based on BIS Standard IS17017-2-6 (IEC 62196-6), these chargers can top up the standard Ultraviolette F77 and the F77 Recon from 20% to 80% in 40 to 60 minutes. This is faster than the basic charger, which takes over eight hours, and the optional Boost Charger, which takes four hours to deliver a full charge. Although the EV manufacturer has already set up 10 Supernova charging stations in the three major cities: Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, the goal is to reach 100 stations nationwide.

Ultraviolette F77: Mechanical and Hardware Details
The base version is powered by a 27kW motor and a smaller 7.1kWh battery. It claims an IDC range of 206 kilometres, and a top speed of 140km/h. The single front and rear discs with dual-channel ABS make up the braking system of the F77. For suspension, the bike employs preload adjustable front forks and monoshock. The electric bike comes equipped with 17-inch alloy rims, wrapped in Metzeler tyres measuring 110/70 (front) and 150/60 (rear).
Ultraviolette F77: Price
The base F77 costs Rs 3.80 lakh, while the more premium Recon is priced at Rs 4.55 lakh. These are ex-showroom prices. The F77 does not yet have any direct competitors in India. However, Orxa Energies, a Bengaluru-based company, introduced the Mantis, their first electric bike, last year. It costs Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and competes with the base F77 base model.
