Royal Enfield, Honda, and Suzuki managed to maintain strong YoY sales growth.
Two-wheelers are without a glimpse of a doubt, one of the most imperative modes of transport in and across India. However, the fate of these two-wheelers in the auto business is decided more often than not by their monthly sales performance. November has finally ended, it's time to look into two-wheeler sales in the last month. On a year-over-year basis, most automakers saw an increase in sales last month. Let’s see which two-wheelers have managed to stay afloat in the sales game:
1. Hero MotoCorp
Hero MotoCorp managed to sell out 3,79,839 units in November 2022. With this figure, Hero reported sales of less than 4 lakh units for the first time since February 2022. The current sales figure marked a 16.6% decrease from the 4,42,825 units that the company managed to dispatch in the previous month. However, compared to the 3,49,393 figure in November 2021, Hero recorded a growth of 8.7%.
2. Honda
A significant drop in the monthly sales of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) was recorded for November 2022. The company sold 3,53,540 units in the month of November, which was lesser than October's figure of 4,25,000 units. A sharp decline of 16.8% can be noted in sales. However, when compared to the 2,56,174 units sold in November 2021, Honda's numbers have increased by 38% year-on-year.
3. TVS
TVS Motor's sales in November 2022 stood at 1,91,730 units, which marks a growth of 9% YoY. However, it managed to sell 2,75,934 units in October 2022. The company, on an overall MoM basis, has faced a decline in the sales figure by 30.5%.
4. Suzuki
Suzuki has performed much better year-on-year, growing by 21%. Last year in November, it sold 55,662 units whereas this year, it has sold 63,156 units. However, the company reported a 9.3% decrease in sales compared to the 69,634 units sold in October 2022.
5. Royal Enfield
When compared to its November 2021 sales figure of 44,830 units, Royal Enfield has grown by 47% year on year by selling 65,760 units. However, on a month-to-month basis, it has seen a 14% drop in sales, as it sold out 76,528 units in October 2022.
