TVS has officially commenced the deliveries of its X electric scooter in India. The initial batch of units was handed over to customers in December last year, and the company intends to roll out deliveries to additional cities in stages. Priced at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the TVS X marks a significant step in the brand's push towards electric mobility. Equipped with advanced features and built on the innovative Xleton platform, this e-scooter combines performance, style, and cutting-edge technology. It offers a powerful 9.17bhp motor, impressive acceleration, and a top speed of 105km/h, making it a strong contender in the electric scooter segment. With a range of 140 km on a single charge, the TVS X aims to redefine urban commuting while offering a futuristic, feature-packed experience for eco-conscious riders.
TVS X Electric Scooter: Battery, Charging Time and Suspension
The TVS X electric scooter is equipped with a 4.44kWh battery using Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt (NMC) cells, offering a claimed range of 140 km on a single charge. Its RAM intake air-cooled motor, featuring an integrated controller, delivers a nominal power of 9.17bhp and peaks at 14.49bhp, enabling a top speed of 105km/h. The torque figure stands at 40Nm.

The scooter accelerates from 0 to 40km/h in 2.6 seconds and reaches 60km/h in 4.5 seconds. The model offers three distinct ride modes: Xtealth, Xtride, and Xonic. With a 950W portable charger priced at Rs 16,275 (including GST), charging from zero to 80% takes 3 hours and 40 minutes. A 3kWh Smart X Home rapid charger can power the battery from 0% to 50% in just 50 minutes.
The TVS X is developed using the company’s innovative ‘born electric’ Xleton platform, complemented by an aluminum alloy frame. It is equipped with a front telescopic fork and an offset rear monoshock to enhance the ride experience. For braking, the scooter relies on 220mm front and 195mm rear disc brakes, supported by single-channel ABS for optimal safety. It features 12-inch alloy wheels with 100/80-section front tyres and 110/80-section rear tyres. The seat height is set at 770mm, providing a comfortable riding posture, while its ground clearance is 175mm, and the wheelbase is 1,285mm. The underseat storage capacity is 19 litres.

In terms of tech, the TVS X comes with the NavPro platform, or SmartXonnect, which includes a 10.25-inch HD tiltable display that allows riders to customise settings and enjoy video streaming, music, and gaming.

For safety, it features the 'Smart Xhield' system, which includes functionalities like reverse assist, smart hill hold, crash detection, geofencing, and various alerts for overspeeding, towing, and other safety concerns. Moreover, it offers real-time location-sharing to ensure rider safety.
