The motorcycle now features TVS's 'SmartXonnect' technology and is India's first commuter motorcycle with a TFT screen.
The updated 2022 TVS Raider 125, priced at ₹99,990 (ex-showroom), has been launched in India by TVS Motor Company. A feature that is usually reserved for high-end motorcycles is available on the TVS Raider 125. The motorcycle now features TVS's 'SmartXonnect' technology and is India's first commuter motorcycle with a TFT screen. Interestingly, the Raider 125 was launched in the Metaverse, possibly the first model to do so.
The Raider 125 SmartXonnect retains its 124.8cc single-cylinder engine, which produces 11.2bhp at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The motorcycle has two riding modes- Eco and Power, with the latter offering 10% more power at the top end. It also has an impressive acceleration time of 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 99km/h.
On the other hand, the TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect now includes a 5-inch TFT console that connects the rider to the motorcycle via a dedicated mobile app. The new Bluetooth-enabled system provides a variety of riding analytics to assist riders in better understanding their riding style. The motorcycle also incorporates image transfer options, voice and navigation assistance, ride reports, and an incoming call feature. As a safety measure, the motorcycle has a side-stand cut-off switch. The new TVS Raider 125 model is available in two colour options – Wicked Black and Fiery Yellow.
In India, the TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect will compete with 125cc commuter bikes such as the Honda Shine SP and Bajaj Pulsar 125.
