The Honda Activa is one of the best-selling scooters in the 110cc segment. According to the sales data released last month by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Honda sold over 21 lakh units of the Activa during the year 2022-23, outperforming the TVS Jupiter, which had to settle for second place, with around 7.30 lakh units sold. The TVS Jupiter is available in SMW, Base, ZX, ZX Disc, Classic, and ZX SmartXonnect variants. The new Activa H-Smart gets a significant upgrade over the 6G Activa, with more features and better performance, which make it a strong rival to the feature-loaded and reliable Jupiter Classic in the segment. So, here's how the two scooters fare against each other:
TVS Jupiter vs Honda Activa: Price, Variants
TVS offers one of its most popular offerings – the Jupiter – in the two-wheeler markets in 6 variants – SMW, Base, ZX, ZX Disc, ZX SmartXonnect, and Classic. The top-of-the-line Jupiter Classic is priced at Rs 88,498 (ex-showroom).

Whereas, the Honda Activa is available in three variants – Smart, Standard, and Deluxe. The price of the Smart variant is Rs 80,537, whereas the Standard and the Deluxe variants retail at Rs 74,536 and Rs 77,036, respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The Honda Activa H-Smart is a 'smart' version of the Activa 6G scooter.
TVS Jupiter vs Honda Activa: Powertrain & Performance
Both scooters feature environmental-friendly BS6 engines. The TVS Jupiter comes with a 109.7cc single-cylinder 4-stroke CVTi FI engine, producing 7.77bhp at 7,500rpm, which is marginally higher than that of the Honda Activa. The TVS Jupiter makes 8.8Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. In terms of mileage, the scooter offers a claimed fuel efficiency of about 66.7km/l.
Meanwhile, the Honda Activa is powered by a 109.51cc single-cylinder air-cooled FI engine, producing 7.73bhp of maximum power at 8,000rpm and 8.9Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. This engine remains the same across all Activa 6G variants. The scooter comes equipped with a Combi Brake System (CBS) and a silent start system and returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 45km/l.
TVS Jupiter vs Honda Activa: Underpinnings
In terms of suspension duties, the TVS Jupiter gets telescopic front forks and a 3-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber at the back. The scooter sits on a set of 12-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 90/90 tubeless tyres. Its braking duties are handled by a single 220mm disc brake at the front and a single 130mm drum brake at the rear.
Honda has also equipped the Activa with telescopic front forks and a 3-step adjustable rear suspension. Its braking setup comprises a single drum brake at both ends. The Activa get a 12-inch alloy wheel at the front shod with a 90/90 tubeless tyre and a 10-inch alloy wheel at the rear with a 90/100 tubeless tyre.
TVS Jupiter vs Honda Activa: Features
In terms of features, the TVS Jupiter is equipped with turn-by-turn navigation, a digital dashboard with Bluetooth connectivity, a cubby holder below the USB charger, an IntelliGO engine start/stop system, an external fuel filler, iTouch Start, dual-side handle lock, and more.

The Honda Activa, on the other hand, features an anti-theft system, which is similar to the Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) offered with the CBR650R, CB650R, and CRF1100L Africa Twin. The HISS is engaged as soon as you take your key out of the ignition to deter theft. Furthermore, the scooter gets a Smart Key, which allows a rider to locate the scooter by flashing all 4 indicators, lock/unlock the handlebar, access under-seat storage, and open the fuel filler cap without the need for a physical key. The SmartSafe feature disables the keyless functionality of the fob, thereby locking the scooter and enhancing safety.
