TVS-BMW unveils new 300cc concept motorcycle, which will makes it way to India and take on KTM Duke 390 and Yamaha YZF-R3.
Rumours, speculations and gossip have been doing rounds on a daily basis over TVS-BMW partnership, but now curtains have been raise at the 2015 Salao Duas Roda motorcycle show in Sao Paulo as BMW Motorrad unveiled the Concept Stunt G 310 motorcycle.
The philosophy behind this tie up is simple, TVS will manufacture performance based sub 500cc motorcycles at their plant in Hosur and BMW will help them design and develop these bikes. With the KTM motorcycles being a hit with the enthusiasts and Yamaha joining the party with the recently launched YZF-R3, TVS-BMW also wants a share of the pie and even aim to become segment leaders.
The Stunt is powered by a newly developed liquid-cooled, four valve, DOHC 1-cylinder 300cc-odd engine. Unfortunately, the power output has not been revealed, but the engine is designed in such a way that it is inclined towards the rear and the cylinder head is rotated by 180 degrees. This allows the engine to use maximum space and lets this short wheelbased bike be more nimble in the handling department.
Being a stunt motorcycle, it has features like lockable throttle to make sure the motorcycle continues to accelerate without the rider twisting the throttle. It also comes with an additional hand lever for rear wheel brake and can be used simultaneously along with the clutch. For all hard core riders, you might be able to feast your eyes on this concept at Auto Expo 2016. Till then, if we hear anything, we will surely keep you all posted.
