TVS has started selling the Apache RTR 160 Race Edition in India. The bike is priced at Rs 79,715 for the front disc variant and Rs 82,044 for the front and rear disc variant (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Race Edition only sports aesthetic changes. The bike is only available in white colour with red graphics - a colour scheme that is exclusive to this edition. On its fuel tank extension, the RTR 160 Race Edition sports a 3D TVS insignia, while the Apache branding has been moved to the side. There is also a ‘Race Edition’ decal on the fuel tank.
Well, that's about everything that the RTR 160 Race Edition has to offer over the standard model. At the bike’s heart is a 159.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 15bhp of max power and 13.03Nm of peak torque. This carburated motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
With the next-generation TVS Apache RTR 160 4V already launched, it remains to be seen for how long will TVS continue selling this older model, which was originally introduced over a decade back.
The new RTR 160 4V is based on a new chassis and is powered by a 159cc single-cylinder motor with a 4-valve head. TVS has launched the new Apache RTR 160 4V in carburetted as well as fuel injected trim. In the carb form, the bike makes peak power of 16.3bhp while the FI churns out 16.6bhp. Both versions make max torque of 14.8Nm.
