After a long wait of more than two years, TVS will finally be launching the Akula 310 in its production avatar on December 6
We have been waiting for a long time for this one. TVS showcased their first fully faired offering - the Akula 310, in its concept form at the 2016 Auto Expo. Since then there have been a lot of speculations about its launch date but TVS finally announced it last week. There were also a lot of rumours about its name too. But TVS has finally made it official that it will be called the TVS Apache RR 310. They have now released teaser video giving us a sneak peek of what the motorcycle will look like.
The teaser video reveals certain design elements like the wide curvy front fascia with the split LED projector headlamps and the large windscreen, which should be good for wind protection while riding on the track. The tail section is sharp and wears a 35 sticker celebrating as many years of TVS racing. Thankfully the Hosur-based bike maker has kept the graphics minimalistic and it gives it a clean look.
Hiding behind the fairing will be single cylinder motor that also works on the BMW G 310 R/GS. In this motorcycle too, it is likely to develop similar figures - 34bhp and 27Nm, but the engine may be tuned differently given the nature of the motorcycle. The gearing too might be different considering it's a fully-faired offering to slot in the affordable performance segment. The crankcase looks identical to the BMW offerings but bears TVS Racing branding. Race spec has been engraved on the trellis frame to make clear it's riding characteristics.
TVS is all set to launch the Apache RR 310 on December 6. We will be riding it soon and our review will go live on the same day. We can't wait to ride it and tell you more. Stay tuned.
