Triumph Trident 660 ‘Isle of Man TT’ Edition Globally Unveiled; Gets Exclusive Kit and Colour Scheme
Dual-channel ABS, all-LED lighting, a colour TFT display, turn-by-turn navigation, adjustable traction control, auto cancelling indicators, and two ride modes—road and rain—are among the features of the Trident 660 Tribute Edition.
For the global market, Triumph Motorcycles has revealed a brand-new special edition of the Trident 660. It will only be available for purchase for a year under the name "Triple Tribute Edition". The vibrant paint job on the bike honours the renowned "Slippery Sam," who won the Isle of Man TT five times in a row from 1971 to 1975. The motorcycle has a unique colour palette of white, black, and blue with a hint of red accents. One of the most prominent visual highlights of the model is the number 67 graphic on the sides and the top of the tank. In addition to the exclusive colour scheme, the bike is equipped with flyscreen, belly pan, and shift assist as standard, all of which are options on the standard Trident 660. Read on to learn more about the brand-new edition.
Triumph Trident 660 Special Edition: Engine Specifications
Let's now talk about the mechanical details. The powertrain of the Trident 660 remains unchanged. As a result, it retains its 660cc liquid-cooled in-line triple-cylinder engine. The motor churns out 79bhp of maximum power at 10,250rpm and 63Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. On the transmission front, the gearbox on duty is a six-speed with a slip-and-assist clutch.
Triumph Trident 660 Special Edition: Hardware and Features
The Trident 660 is supported by a tubular steel perimeter frame with a twin-sided steel swingarm. The frame is suspended by 41mm upside-down forks in the front and a monoshock in the back. The suspension setup is derived from Showa, therefore the front forks are separate function forks, while the rear is an RSU unit with preload adjustment. The bike rides on 17-inch aluminium wheels with a 120/70 tyre in the front and a 180/55 tyre in the back. The Triumph Trident 660 is brought to a stop by Nissin two-piston sliding callipers with dual 310mm discs up front and a Nissin single-piston sliding calliper with a single 255mm disc at the rear.
Dual-channel ABS, all-LED lighting, a colour TFT display, turn-by-turn navigation, adjustable traction control, auto cancelling indicators, and two ride modes—road and rain—are among the features of the Trident 660.
Triumph Trident 660 Special Edition: Price Details
The standard Trident 660 is the most affordable large-capacity model available from the British manufacturer. Interestingly, the cost of the ‘Isle of Man TT’ Edition in the firm's native market is the same as that of the standard Trident (Euro 7895). However, it is unclear whether this pattern will hold in India. In our country, the model is priced at Rs 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
