Triumph Motorcycles India is planning on adding more models to its list of products that are locally assembled in Manesar.
Triumph currently assembles a small range of models in India which consists of 20% of its entire product portfolio offered in India. Triumph is now working towards assembling more models at their facility in Manesar, Haryana.
Apart from the locally assembled models, Triumph imports completely built-up motorcycles directly from the UK or from their facility in Thailand to sell in the Indian market. By 2018, Triumph is claiming that they will be assembling 90% of their models sold in India.
Currently, the British motorcycle manufacturer is projecting to assemble 200 units locally in India in 2017 alone and around 1,200 units by the end of their next fiscal.
Triumph Motorcycles India presently sells 16 models which include the Bonneville classic range, Tiger adventure tourer range, Thunderbirds and Rocket from the cruiser range, the Street Triple and Speed Triple from the roadster range and the Daytona from the supersports range of bikes.
Triumph also launched the all-new Street Triple 765 S in India for an ex-showroom price of Rs 8.5 lakh. The new Street Triple will also be manufactured in India. The Street Triple features a 765cc in-line three-cylinder, liquid cooled engine. The new motor produces 111bhp and 73Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed transmission.
