Triumph launches the Thruxton R in India at Rs. 10.90 lakh.
Triumph has launched the all-new Thruxton R in India, bringing back the iconic name once again in a more modern and powerful avatar with its 1,200cc engine. The 8 valve parallel twin engine from Bonneville features ride by wire fuel injection fed by authentically styled twin throttle bodies, allowing the engine to develop 95.7bhp of max power at 6,750rpm and 112Nm of peak torque @ 4,950 rpm, giving it a 62 per cent hike over its predecessor. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and the clutch has been made lighter to enhance ride comfort. Complimenting the powertrain is a liquid cooling system, something that is crucial in our riding conditions.
A pair of twin upswept exhausts finished in brushed stainless steel feature reverse megaphone end cans deliver an exhaust note full of rich bass.
The Triumph Thruxton R is offered with three riding modes, namely, Road, Rain and Sport. Needless to say that Sport mode ensures a more immediate throttle response. The motorcycle also features anti-lock braking system and a ride by wire switchable traction control system that optimizes torque delivery from the engine.
Triumph has also loaded the Thruxton R with new switchgear and equipment to further enhance the ride experience.
The Triumph Thruxton R has been launched at Rs. 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in Diablo Red or Silver Ice shades and can be specified with a choice of three kits, Track Racer kit, Café Racer kit and Thruxton R Performance kit.
