Triumph Motorcycles shared a 10-second teaser on Instagram, featuring the number "800" and the Triumph logo on a fuel tank. While no official details have been revealed, many believe this hints at a new Street Triple 800. The current model has a 765cc engine, so an upgrade to 800cc would offer a noticeable power boost. This move could help the Street Triple stay competitive in the Supersport segment, especially as other brands, like Kawasaki with its Z900, are making similar advancements in engine capacity and performance.

What Can We Expect?

The teaser image, with its sharp lines and aggressive stance, strongly suggests a sportier model. It could be an updated version of the Triumph Street Triple 765, as increasing engine size to improve performance while complying with strict emissions rules is a growing trend in the industry. This approach not only boosts power but also ensures the bike stays competitive in today’s market.

A new Daytona 800 seems less likely, as the Daytona 660 already fills that niche perfectly. The focus might shift to the Tiger Sport lineup. The Tiger Sport 660 is a budget-friendly tourer based on the Trident, while the 850 is a simpler, less powerful version of the Tiger 900.

A new Tiger Sport 800, equipped with 17-inch wheels and a sportier engine derived from the Street Triple or Tiger 850/900, could be a solid option, offering a blend of sportiness and practicality. This model would cater to riders looking for both performance and versatility.

Triumph will officially unveil this new model on October 22, showcasing it at the 2024 EICMA. It’s expected to launch in India by mid-2025 and will be sold through Triumph showrooms nationwide.
