Triumph recently launched its Speed T4 in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.17 lakh. The new Triumph Speed T4 is the entry point to the Triumph lineup, yet offers more torque (from 3,500rpm to 5,500rpm) than the Speed 400 using the same TR-series engine. Alongside more torque, the Speed T4 also brings in a retro design and a conventional telescopic setup, making it comparable to Jawa's new 42 FJ, which starts at Rs 1.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Triumph Speed 400-based Speed T4 and the Jawa 42 FJ share a round LED headlamp, single-piece handlebars, a tank design, and upswept exhaust pipes. The former gets a '400' graphic on the fuel tank, while the latter features a 'Jawa' decal on its fuel tank. The Speed T4 has a sleeker tail section than the Jawa 42 FJ.
