In early July 2024, Triumph Motorcycles announced a limited-period discount offer of Rs 10,000 on the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X. This was done to celebrate the company's milestone of selling over 50,000 units of said motorcycles within a year of their launch. On the back of a good customer response, the offer – which was originally valid till July 31 – has now been extended till August 31, 2024. While Triumph gives the above-mentioned reason, there is a possibility that the decision to extend the discount period could be taken to neutralise the impact of the launch of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, a close competitor to the Triumph Speed 400.

The Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X are currently priced at Rs 2.24 lakh and Rs 2.54 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Meanwhile, the Guerrilla 450 ranges between Rs 2.39 lakh and Rs 2.54 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom).

The extension follows the inauguration of the 100th Triumph dealership by Bajaj Auto in India, thereby increasing Triumph's dealer network across the country from 15 to 100 in a year. With this, Triumph motorcycles are available in more than 75 Indian cities.

Even the main frame is the same for both. However, the Scrambler 400 X runs on a 19-inch front wheel and has a taller ride height. At 185kg, the 400 X weighs 9kg more than the Speed 400.
