The price of the much-awaited Triumph Scrambler 400 X has finally been announced in India. Customers interested in this all-new, made-in-India Triumph model can now purchase it for Rs 2.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle's refundable booking fee is Rs 10,000. Although the Scrambler 400 X is built on a similar platform as the Triumph Speed 400, it has received a few key modifications, which, according to the manufacturer, give it an identity of its own. Let's take a closer look at other significant aspects of this brand-new offering from the British bikemaker.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X: Mechanical Details
The 398cc four-valve liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine that powers the Speed 400 also propels the Scrambler 400 X and is similarly tuned. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a torque-assist clutch and produces 39.5 bhp of peak power at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm of maximum torque at 6,500rpm.
Triumph Scrambler 400 X: Styling and Colour Options
Although it shares its foundation with the Speed 400, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X leans more toward the off-road side of things, just like its name suggests. Its modern-retro appearance is aided by its round headlamp, curved gas tank with knee grips, and side-slung exhaust pipe with a distinctive heat shield design. The bike also features updated ergonomics, a split seat, a headlight grill, and a slightly taller stance.
As previously mentioned, the Scrambler 400 X is offered in three stylish colour options – Matt Khaki Green and Fusion White, Carnival Red and Phantom Black, and Phantom Black and Silver Ice. Each colour combination features Triumph's unique ‘Scrambler’ tank stripe and triangular badge.
Triumph Scrambler 400 X: Features and Hardware
Similar to its sibling, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X features dual-channel Bosch ABS, which can be entirely turned off at the rear wheel, ride-by-wire, and switchable traction control. Other features include LED lighting, a USB charging port, and a semi-digital instrument console.
A 43mm big-piston upside-down fork with 150mm of travel is used up front. The rear suspension also has the same amount of travel. The Scrambler 400 X also features broader handlebars, a larger 19-inch front wheel, a larger cast steel brake pedal, and lower, wider high-grip footpegs. Additionally, the Scrambler 400 X gets a slightly bigger 320mm front disc with a ByBre four-piston calliper positioned radially and a 230mm single-pot calliper at the rear.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X: Booking and Warranty
Prospective buyers can reserve the Scrambler 400 X online for a nominal fee of Rs 10,000. The new Scrambler 400 X will reportedly be sold by an exclusive Triumph dealer network, which will quickly expand over more than 100 locations during the current fiscal year, according to Triumph and Bajaj Auto. The Scrambler 400 X, similar to the Speed 400, is being offered with a two-year unlimited-kilometre mileage warranty and service intervals of 16,000 kilometres.
