The 2022 Tiger 1200 is lighter and more powerful than before.
The Tiger range has been significant for Triumph, both in India and globally. After the launch of the Tiger Sport 660, which sits at the bottom of the Tiger range, we now get the all-new 2022 Tiger 1200. Triumph is launching the bike in four variants – the GT Pro, Rally Pro, GT Explorer, and Rally Explorer.
For 2022, the Tiger 1200 gets a 1,160cc triple motor, producing 148bhp and 130Nm, which marks an increase of 9bhp and 8Nm over its predecessor. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, with a two-way quickshifter connected to the wheels via a shaft drive.
The Tiger 1200 also gets a redesigned chassis, which allows for a reduction of close to 25kgs of weight over the previous Tiger 1200, which means that the new bike should be more nimble than before. It also gets other features, including semi-active Showa suspension, cruise control, a 7-inch TFT display, and heated grips.
The Tiger 1200 range consists of four variants, with the entry-level GT Pro priced at Rs 19.19 lakh, followed by the Rally Pro at Rs 20.19 lakh, the GT Explorer at Rs 20.69 lakh, and finally the Rally Explorer at Rs 21.69 lakh.
