This day has been on the cards for a while now and we knew their arrival was just around the corner, but Triumph India hit us hard today as they not only have officially launched their entire bike model lineup in India, but they have also priced their beautiful bikes at shockingly attractive prices.
At the press conference in New Delhi, Paul Stroud, Director Sales & Marketing (Global), Triumph Motorcycles made us very happy when he said, “With the launch of Triumph, we have brought the world’s most iconic premier motorcycle brand to India, Triumph is not just a motorcycle, but a way of life. India is an exceptionally exciting market for us and the premium motorcycle segment in the country is seeing tremendous growth. We feel this is the right time to establish our foothold here. Triumph will also be the only premium motorcycle brand in India to offer the customer a complete choice of motorcycles to suite people’s riding preferences. No matter what your riding preference is Triumph has a bike to enable you to pursue your passion. Our main focus this year will be to successfully establish Triumph’s presence in India and we will strive to provide an exceptional quality of sales and service, for both admirers, as well as the riders of our bikes.”
But Mr. Stroud made us even happier when he announced the prices of the bikes. Starting at just Rs 5.7 lakh you can buy the base Bonneville from the Classic model line, and then for just Rs 6.7 lakh you can get your hands on the Thruxton. But the Roadsters is where all the attention has gone, because the legendary Street Tripple has been priced at just Rs 7.5 lakh, and the Speed Tripple and the Daytona 675R have been priced at Rs 10.4 and 11.4 respectively.
Adventure lovers will be excited to know that the Tiger 800XC Explorer will also be available and that to with a very decent price tag of Rs 12 lakh and the Tiger 1200 will be slightly more expensive at Rs 17.9. Meanwhile if you are looking for something with massive size that will dominate the streets of India, then you can always go for the Rocket III, and that will set you back Rs 20 lakh. Keep in mind that all these prices are ex-showroom New Delhi, so they might be different in your city.
Having another legendary Bike manufacturer setting up shop on our shores is big news for us and it makes us very happy to know that Indian premier motorcycling community is growing. But, this is just the tip of the spear, because next year we will see other big players such as Victory and Indian Motorcycles coming our way, and we our sure more will follow.
Currently, there will be dealerships set up in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Hyderabad, but Triumph India has also said that within the coming months there will be more dealerships across the country.
