Thanks to cheap costs of ownership and rising fuel and diesel prices, people in India have been shifting to electric mobility, especially in the two-wheeler segment. The electric two-wheelers compete with their ICE counterparts in terms of both utility and performance. Further, electric scooters make excellent commuters because they are fast and relatively inexpensive to recharge. So, let's take a quick look at the top 5 fastest electric scooters available in India right now.

Ola S1 Pro (Top Speed: 116km/h)
The Ola S1 Pro e-scooter is powered by a 4kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which allows it to have a range of 181 kilometres on a single charge. The highest speed of the 11.3bhp PMS electric motor is 116km/h. It is the fastest electric scooter in India and hence tops the chart. Currently, the Ola S1 has the most features for any scooter in the nation. The top-spec S1 Pro costs Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom). There are four driving modes available: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Hyper. The electric scooter has a 7-inch colour TFT display, cruise control, navigation, music playback, reverse mode, and other features.
Simple One (Top Speed: 105km/h)
The Simple One, which has had several delays, recently hit the market with a price tag of Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) and is currently the second-fastest scooter in India. A 5kWh battery pack powers the Simple One, enabling the scooter to reach a peak speed of 105km/h. The Simple One claims to go from 0 to 40km/h in just 2.7 seconds. Moreover, it has an IDC-claimed range of up to 212 kilometres on a full charge. The 8.5kW electric motor on the scooter produces 11.4bhp of maximum power and 72Nm of peak torque. The scooter's battery can be charged from 0% to 80% in 5 hours and 54 minutes at home. It also comes with a rapid charger that can charge the scooter up to 80% at a rate of 1.5km per minute.
The EV is available in four single-tone and two dual-tone colour schemes. The Simple One is equipped with telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear and gets disc brakes at both ends. The scooter has all-LED lighting, a Wi-Fi-enabled coloured TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, 12-inch alloy wheels, and four ride modes: Eco, Dash, Ride, and Sonic. It also has a 30-litre storage capacity.
Ather 450X (Top Speed: 90km/h)
When it comes to peak speed, the Ather 450X sits in the third position, for it can reach a top speed of 90km/h, which is comparable to Okinawa's highest speed. With a starting price of Rs 1.28 lakh (ex-showroom), the Ather is powered by a 3.7kWh battery pack. Both versions of the Ather 450X have the same specs. The electric scooter has a peak torque of 26Nm and a power output of 8.58bhp. The acceleration from 0 to 40km/h takes 3.3 seconds. The Pro-Pack version has five ride modes: Warp, Sport, Ride, Eco, and SmartEco. The standard model, however, gets a single ride mode.
Depending on the ride mode used, the range on the Pro-Pack model varies. The Pro-Pack version, however, has access to the Ather Grid fast-charging network and benefits from quicker charging speeds. Google Maps, Bluetooth connectivity, Ather Connect Pro capabilities, auto hold, and reverse assist features are all included in the Pro-Pack model.
Ola S1 Air (Top Speed: 85km/h)
The S1 Air with a 3kWh battery pack is claimed to offer an IDC range of up to 125 kilometres on a single charge. It is powered by a 4.5kW electric motor, which enables the e-scooter to attain a peak speed of 85km/h. The S1 Air has a flat floorboard, a tubular metal grabrail, drum brakes, conventional telescopic suspension up front, twin shock absorbers at the back, and black-coloured panels for the bottom half section.
An all-LED lighting system, three riding modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport), reverse assist, a 7-inch colour touchscreen TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, a dedicated mobile companion app, OTA updates support, an onboard music system, navigation, and side-stand alert are among other features of this entry-level Ola scooter.

TVS iQube (Top Speed: 78km/h)
Both the Standard iQube and the iQube S are powered by a 3.04kWh battery pack with a range of 100 kilometres and a peak speed of 78km/h. The current battery pack, as well as the upcoming bigger (5.1kWh) battery pack with the new TVS iQube ST, employ an indigenous battery management system (BMS) and thermal management system. Furthermore, these batteries are IP67-rated for water and dust protection.
The new iQube retains its 12-inch wheels and all-LED illumination, but it now comes with a variety of connection options driven by optional TFT instrument displays. In comparison to the entry-level iQube's 5-inch unit, which offers turn-by-turn navigation, the iQube S gets a bigger 7-inch TFT cluster with music controls and theme customisation tools. The top-tier ST model has a 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster with voice recognition and OTA updates.
