Honda was the best-selling two-wheeler brand in July 2024. The company sold 4.39 lakh 2Ws last month, representing a YoY growth of 41.26%.

In July 2024, Honda overtook Hero Motocorp, with 4.39 lakh 2Ws sold in the domestic market. In contrast, the latter sold 3.47 lakh units. Honda offers a variety of scooters and motorcycles in India, including the Hornet 2.0, Active 6G, Shine 100, and Dio. While no formal announcement has been made, the company is expected to unveil an electric edition of its best-selling scooter, the Activa, soon. The details on the e-scooter are scarce, but market reports suggest that the model may borrow some styling cues from its standard counterpart. In terms of price, the Honda Activa Electric could cost somewhere around Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). While there is still time for the e-Activa to hit our streets, let's take a closer look at the top five best-selling two-wheeler brands in India.

Honda

Honda recorded a 41.26% year-on-year growth in July 2024. Its market share was 32.01%. In June 2024, the Japanese automaker was the second-best-selling two-wheeler brand, with 4.83 lakh units sold.

Hero Motocorp

Hero Motocorp Xtreme 125R

Hero dropped from the top to the second spot in monthly domestic sales. The company sold 3.47 lakh units last month, down 6.43% from 3.71 lakh units sold in July 2023. The automaker's share was at 25.32%. In June, the company sold 4.91 lakh units, representing 16.24% growth from the 4.22 lakh units supplied in the same month the previous year.

TVS

TVS Apache RTR 310 Motion

TVS retained its third position on the list, selling 2.54 lakh units in July 2024. The company's year-over-year growth rate was 8.09%, and the market share was 18.54%. In June of this year, TVS registered sales of 2.56 lakh units. 

Bajaj

BAJAJ PULSAR NS400Z

Bajaj sold 1.69 lakh 2Ws domestically in July 2024, showing an 18.91% year-on-year increase. During the same period last year, the Chakan-based company delivered 1.42 lakh units. The market share of the company in July stood at 12.31%.

Suzuki

Suzuki Gixxer SF 250

Suzuki was the fifth best-selling two-wheeler brand in July of this year. The company sold more than one lakh units last month, up from 80,309 units delivered in July 2023. This was a year-on-year increase of 25.27%. During this time, the company's market share stood at 7.33%.
