The V-Strom SX is Suzuki’s most affordable adventure motorcycle in India.
The small capacity adventure motorcycle segment is growing rapidly and now Suzuki is dipping its feet in there too. The V-Strom SX shares some of its underpinnings with the Gixxer 250 but gets a host of changes to make it more capable over rough terrain.
In terms of design, the V-Strom SX carries forward the pronounced beak and bright colour scheme from the bigger V-Strom 1050. It also gets a tall windscreen, knuckle protectors on the handlebar, a two-step seat and a luggage carrier at the rear.
The V-Strom SX gets a different swingarm and subframe, telescopic forks at the front with 120mm of travel and 7 preload settings for the rear suspension. It’s also got 205mm of ground clearance, a seat height of 835mm, a 19-inch wheel at the front and a 17-inch wheel at the rear.
Powering the V-Strom SX is a 249cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing 26.1bhp at 9,300rpm and 22Nm at 7,300rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The Suzuki V-Strom SX is priced at Rs 2.11 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes head to head against other adventure motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure and the KTM 250 Adventure.
