Two test mules of the upcoming Suzuki V-Strom 800DE were spotted testing in Gurugram, India. This means that the two-wheeler manufacturer could launch the V-Strom 800DE in our market soon. While there is no official update with respect to the same, we expect it to make its market entry by late 2023, with an asking price of around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). For the uninitiated, the middleweight adventure motorcycle debuted at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in 2022 and was launched worldwide in December of the same year. The V-Strom 800DE will be a replacement model for the 650cc version, which is currently on sale.
According to the manufacturer, the V-Strom 800DE is a touring bike with an off-road focus. On the looks front, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE will get a short windscreen, a pronounced beak, and elevated handlebars with a guard for a more relaxed riding position. In addition, the bike will also have a vertically stacked LED headlamp, a transparent visor, a single-piece saddle, and pannier mounts.

Suzuki V-Strom 800DE: Engine, Hardware
Coming to the heart of the matter, the new V-Strom 800DE will be powered by a 776cc, twin-cylinder engine, delivering 82bhp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm at 6,800rpm. For handling transmission, it will employ a 6-speed gearbox. The ADV will sport a steel frame chassis with an aluminium swingarm. The bike has a ground clearance of 220mm and a seat height of 855mm.
The suspension setup of the bike will consist of upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The Showa suspension on the V-Strom 800DE will be fully adjustable and feature 220mm of travel at both ends. Braking duties will be carried out by two front discs and a single rear disc. The motorcycle's off-road capability is credited to a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels combination wrapped in Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres.

Feature-wise, it will include LED lighting, a 5-inch TFT display, switchable dual-channel ABS, a bi-directional quick-shifter, traction control, low RPM assist, ride-by-wire, ride modes, and so on.

The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE could ask for around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, it will be Suzuki's answer to the likes of the BMW F850 GS and the Triumph Tiger 900.
