Suzuki Motorcycle India is all set to launch the V-Strom 800DE tomorrow, i.e. March 29. The middleweight adventure bike, which is already on sale in global markets, was showcased in India at the Bharat Mobility Expo in February. The motorcycle weighs 230 kg and features a 20-litre fuel tank. It has an 855mm seat height and 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels with Dunlop tubeless tyres sized 110/80 front and 150/70 rear.
Although there is no official confirmation, Suzuki's V-Strom 800 DE is expected to enter the Indian market through the CBU route, leading to higher prices of around Rs 13-14 lakh (ex-showroom). Suzuki V-Strom 800DE: Engine and Hardware
The Suzuki middleweight ADV features a 776cc parallel-twin engine with 83bhp and 78Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a bidirectional quickshifter. The V-Strom 800DE is equipped with Showa's adjustable front fork and monoshock with remote preload control. It has 310mm front discs with four-piston floating callipers and a 260mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper for braking. Dual-channel ABS is standard on the bike, and the rear ABS can be turned off as needed.

The motorcycle has a steel frame, identical to the GSX-8S naked bike, but with a longer and more robust subframe to withstand additional load. There are different electronic rider aids available on the Suzuki motorcycle. These consist of a Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) with two on-road modes and an off-road gravel mode, and a Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) with three ride modes: Active, Basic, and Comfort. Other notable amenities include an all-LED lighting setup, a 5.0-inch TFT display, Suzuki's Easy Start System, and a Low RPM Assist feature.
Is the Suzuki GSX-8R Also on the Cards For India?
Suzuki unveiled the GSX-8R alongside the V-Strom 800DE at the Bharat Mobility Expo in India. The GSX-8R has the same 776cc engine as the GSX-8S and V-Strom 800. However, its performance numbers are currently unknown. The bike features a sporty look, with a pointed fascia. It has sharp body panels, a transparent visor, and ducts on either side of the headlights, and vertically stacked projector LEDs.
