Suzuki launches special edition of the Gixxer range with a new colour option and clear lens LED tail-lamp.
Suzuki has launched a new ‘special’ edition of its Gixxer and Gixxer SF motorcycles. What that means is that both the models – naked and faired – now get a new paintjob and clear lens LED tail-lamp over their regular counterparts. Suzuki is calling these special edition variants as Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP. Both will only be made available with the rear disc variants of the bikes.
As per Suzuki, both the SP models get a ‘classic race inspired graphics’ along with a Gixxer SP emblem and a maroon coloured seat. Both of the models get a new Matt Fibroin Grey/Glass Sparkle colour option as well. Mechanically, the special edition variants remain unchanged from the regular model. This means they also come fitted with the same single-cylinder 155cc engine developing 14.6bhp of max power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycles India, said, “We are pleased to announce our latest Special Edition variants of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF, enabling us to expand our offerings in the Gixxer series. The Gixxer is one of our most successful and admired street sports bikes, known for its powerful performance, sporty style and it has been well accepted by the Indian youth. The SP editions of the Gixxer and the Suzuki Gixxer SF stay committed to the exceptional performance and ability of the Gixxer and give an edgy look to the fashionable rider.”
Now coming to the main bit – their prices. The Gixxer SP is priced at Rs. 80,726 while the Gixxer SF SP carries price tag of Rs. 88,857 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
Apart from the two limited edition variants, Suzuki has also confirmed that the Gixxer SF-Fi fuel-injected version - which it showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year - is now available in select cities. Although the company is yet to reveal its price and specs.
