Suzuki India has launched their entry level fully faired bike with ABS for Rs. 95,499.
Suzuki has now launched the Gixxer SF in India with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The Gixxer SF is offered in India with a 154cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke, air cooled engine mated to a five-speed transmission.
This engine is available in two forms – standard Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) with a carburettor or Fuel Injection (FI). ABS will be offered in both engine forms available in two colour options - Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Matte Black. Suzuki has priced the carburetted ABS version of the Suzuki Gixxer SF at Rs. 95,499 while the Gixxer SF FI with ABS is priced at Rs. 99,312. Both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Sajeev Rajasekharan, EVP, Sales and Marketing, SMIPL, said, “We are pleased to announce the ABS fitted variant of Gixxer SF. The safety and well-being of our customers is of paramount importance for us at Suzuki. The new variants not only enhance the rider’s safety but also make every ride more exciting. We are confident that the new Gixxer SF variant will strengthen our foothold amongst the conscientious young riders who want to make a style statement, but also don’t want to compromise on their safety.”
Adding ABS to the Gixxer SF now allows the bike to automatically control the braking force for more efficient braking and avoid the brakes from locking up under hard or sudden braking even on slippery road conditions. Suzuki’s fuel injection (FI) technology is equipped with six sensors which calculate the amount of fuel which needs to injected for optimum combustion and efficiency. This technology delivers better emissions and improved fuel efficiency.
The Gixxer SF competes against the Yamaha Fazer and the TVS Apache RTR 180 as they are similarly priced. Though the Apache features ABS, the Fazer does not. However, the Fazer does come with fuel injection. With the introduction of ABS the Gixxer SF gets an edge over its competitors in the market.
