The updated, 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF gets its much-awaited MotoGP Edition; priced at ₹ 1.10 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Suzuki Gixxer, ever since the launch of the first-gen model, has been one of those few motorcycles available in the country which gets a special edition model reflecting the manufacturer's racing heritage. While it was available with the erstwhile Gixxer as well, Suzuki has now launched the MotoGP Edition of the 2019 Gixxer SF, which has been priced at ₹ 1,10,605 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes it about ₹ 735 more expensive than the standard model.
When we say a MotoGP edition, we do not mean a mechanically tricked-out Gixxer SF. The changes are strictly visual and relegated to the bike's paint colour and graphics. Like the GSX-RR race machines used by Team Suzuki Ecstar in MotoGP, the Gixxer MotoGP Edition gets the same Suzuki Racing Blue exterior colour with Suzuki Ecstar livery on either side. However, the bike continues to be powered by the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder air-cooled unit which develops 13.9bhp and 14Nm of torque.
Meanwhile, Suzuki has also announced that it will be launching a similar MotoGP Edition for its bigger offering, the 2019 Gixxer SF 250. This one, as per the company, will go on sale sometime in August 2019.
