Subsequent to the introduction of the Gixxer SF MotoGP Edition, Suzuki has now brought in the same for its 250cc sibling too. Priced at Rs 1.71 lakh, the MotoGP Edition demands a premium of less than Rs 1,000
The MotoGP edition of the first-gen Suzuki Gixxer SF had become quite a style statement. Despite the success, Suzuki chose to leave it out when they brought in the 2019 Gixxer SF and SF 250. But they clearly couldn’t avoid it for long. Last month, the Japanese bike maker brought in the Gixxer SF in the MotoGP livery and now they have introduced the same in the Gixxer SF 250 too. Suzuki has priced the Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP Edition at Rs 1.71 lakh – which is just Rs 801 more than the standard paint scheme. The case with the Gixxer SF was similar too – the MotoGP Edition demanded just about Rs 735 over the regular trim.
The bike is adorned with a racing blue livery inspired from the Team Suzuki Ecstar colours. In addition, the motorcycle also gets a bright yellow pin strip on the alloy wheel as well. While the paint scheme is new, at the heart the Gixxer SF MotoGP Edition has no changes to the engine and output figures. It continues to be powered by a 249cc single-cylinder fuel injected motor that dishes out 26bhp and 22.6Nm. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Stopping power continues to come from disc brakes at both ends with assistance from ABS. Other features include, LED headlight and taillight, a fully digital instrument cluster and more.
Suzuki isn’t the only bikemaker to bring special edition models with MotoGP livery. Yamaha recently also brought in MotoGP editions of the YZF-R15, FZ25 and Ray-ZR.
