The naked Suzuki Gixxer 250 also makes the same output figures – 26.1bhp and 22.6Nm from a single-cylinder 250cc motor. This new offering will compete against the likes of the KTM 250 Duke, Yamaha FZ25, and in terms of pricing even the Bajaj Dominar 400
Suzuki seems to be on a roll. Earlier in May, Suzuki brought in the Gixxer SF and the Gixxer SF 250 and since then there have been a slew of launches from the bike maker. At the time of the launch, the Japanese manufacturer also announced the launch of the new Gixxer and Gixxer 250. The Gixxer was introduced a few weeks back and now the company has launched the Gixxer 250 as well. The naked offering is now on sale in two colours – a combination of Metallic Matte Platinum Silver/ Metallic Matte Black; and a Metallic Matte Black, and is priced at Rs 1,59,800 (ex-showroom).
Speaking about the launch, Koichiro Hirao, Company Head, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “In last five years, Gixxer brand has become synonymous with Suzuki’s attributes of quality, style and performance. It is our constant endeavor to bring a fresh perspective and value to this brand. Today, we are thrilled to launch a stylish and powerful biking experience to our patrons in the form of Suzuki Gixxer 250. This product is a true reflection of Suzuki’s legacy in developing high performance motorcycles of superior quality backed by cutting-edge technology. With this addition to the Gixxer portfolio, we look forward to ride upwards and continue the growth momentum.”
In terms of design, the Gixxer 250 looks identical to its smaller sibling. It gets a round LED headlight, sharper cuts on the furl tank, larger tank extensions, split seats and a stubby exhaust. The taillight is LED too. Coming to the heart, just like the Gixxer SF 250, this one too is powered by a 249cc single-cylinder fuel-injected unit that develops 26.1bhp and 22.6Nm. This engine comes paired with a 6-speed transmission. Braking duties are performed by disc brakes at both ends and gets assistance from a dual-channel ABS unit.
Over the last few months, Suzuki has entered the 250cc segment with full vigor – first with the SF 250 and now with the naked. The Gixxer 250 will compete against the KTM 250 Duke, Yamaha FZ25 and with regards to pricing also the Bajaj Dominar 400.
