The Burgman Street is the second maxi scooter to ever launch in India, first one being the forgettable Kinetic Blaze.

After being showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Suzuki Burgman Street has been finally launched in India at ₹68,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Suzuki Burgman Street’s aesthetics are inspired by the bigger Burgman series scooters which are sold globally. The scooter’s front fascia is larger and wider than most scooters we see in India. It sports a V-shaped LED headlamp, large windscreen and exposed handlebar. The instrument cluster of the scooter is fully digital.

Equipment wise, there are tubeless tyres, a 12v charging socket, alloy wheels and more. The Suzuki Burgman Street rides on telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the back. In terms of braking, the scooter gets a disc brake up front and a drum setup at the back. Thankfully, CBS is a standard fitment for safer braking.

While the Burgman Street might looks bulbous, it is actually based on the Access 125 underneath. Therefore, powering the maxi scooter is a familiar a 124.3cc air-cooled engine that produces 8.7bhp of max power and 10.2Nm of peak torque. A continuously variable transmission comes mated to this engine.

While the Suzuki Burgman Street has no direct rival in India, for the price, one can also look at other 125cc scooters like the Aprilia SR 125 and Honda Grazia
