The all-electric Simple One scooter has been officially launched in the Indian market. The company's first electric scooter stands at a starting price of Rs 1.45 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.58 lakh, which even includes the price of a 750W charger. All prices are ex-showroom. At this price point, it competes with the likes of the Ather 450X, the Ola S1, and the TVS iQube. The Bengaluru-based EV start-up unveiled the One e-scooter in August 2021, and its price was originally pegged at Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom). But, it took around 2 years for the company to make it ready in line with the updated Automotive Industry Standards (AIS) 156. According to Simple Energy, the One scooter is characterised by its long-range, unique design, and dual battery pack. The electric vehicle is offered in 4 single-tone and 2 dual-tone colour options.
Simple Energy has already received over 1 lakh pre-bookings for the scooter in 18 months. Deliveries for the e-scooter will begin June 6 onwards, although in a phased manner starting with Bengaluru.

Simple One Electric Scooter: Battery, Range, Speed
An IP67-rated 5kWh lithium-ion dual battery pack offers an IDC-claimed range of up to 212 kilometres on a full charge. This makes it the longest-range electric two-wheeler in the country, according to Simple Energy. The scooter comes equipped with an 8.5kW electric motor that produces 11.4bhp of maximum power and 72Nm of peak torque. As claimed, it has a top speed of 105km/h and can sprint from 0 to 40km/h in 2.77 seconds.
At home, the battery of the Simple One scooter can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 5 hours and 54 minutes. In addition, it also gets a fast charger that can charge the scooter up to 80 per cent at the rate of 1.5km per minute.

Simple One Electric Scooter: Hardware, Features
The suspension setup of the electric two-wheeler consists of telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking duties are performed by disc brakes at both ends. On the feature front, the scooter gets all-LED lighting, a Wi-Fi-enabled coloured TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, 12-inch alloy wheels, and 4 ride modes - Eco, Dash, Ride, and Sonic. Further, it gets a 30-litre storage capacity.

The Simple One scooter is priced between Rs 1.45 lakh and Rs 1.58 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, it competes with the likes of the River Indie, the TVS iQube, the Vida V1, the Ather 450X, and the Ola S1 Pro.
