Simple Energy will announce the prices of its new electric scooter, the Simple One, on independence day. So far, the startup has unveiled its sales plans and the battery-pack size.
Simple Energy, which is a Bengaluru-based startup, will begin accepting bookings for its upcoming electric scooter on Independence Day, i.e August 15. The company will completely reveal its new electric scooter followed by the price announcement on the same day. The (refundable) booking token will be Rs 1,947 – a reference to the year of Indian independence. Bookings will be accepted on the manufacturer’s official website from 17:00 hrs onwards.
Simple energy will commence its sales operation in 13 states of India – Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Punjab.
So far, Simple Energy has unveiled the battery capacity of the upcoming electric scooter. The Simple One will have a 4.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which will be a removable unit. The battery weighs 6kgs.
The Simple One will mainly rival the Ather 450, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak in the Indian market. We expect Simple Energy to price the Simple One close to the Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. The scooter will be manufactured at the company’s production facility at White Field, Bengaluru. The production facility is capable to churn out 50,000 units.
