Simple Energy is preparing to rival the Bajaj Chetak and Ather 450X with its Mark II electric scooter. The scooter is in its testing phase and will be launched by the end of 2021
Simple Energy is a Bengaluru based start-up that will soon introduce an electric vehicle (Scooter) in the Indian market. The all-electric scooter is set to be launched by sometime in Q4, 2021, mainly during the festive season.
For now, Simple Energy has given out the first images of its prototype Mark II electric scooter. The images showcase a camouflaged scooter that comes equipped with a disc-brake assemble on the front end. The prototype is also equipped with telescopic suspension in the front and the aforementioned cycle parts could make its way to the production model of Simple Energy Mark II Electric Scooter. What’s more is that the start-up is very optimistic about the EV’s range and has claimed a number of 240km in a single-full-charge. The scooter is also expected to have a 0-50kmph timing of 3.8 seconds and a top-speed of 100kmph. A 4.8kWh lithium battery pack will be the source of power for Mark II.
The Mark II will be manufactured at Simple Energy’s facility based out of White Field, Bengaluru, with a production capacity of 50,000 units per annum. The Mark II is most likely to be offered at the same price point as the Bajaj Chetak and it could most likely rival the Ather 450X as well in terms of features. In the first phase, the sales could commence in the city of Bengaluru and the dealership network could then be expanded to different cities of India by 2022.
