With over 90% retail network now operational, Royal Enfield's sales & service operations have restarted at more than 850 touchpoints across the country. Customers can also use the new contactless digital sales/service options.
With the lockdown relaxations kicking in, Royal Enfield, starting 6th May 2020, resumed production work at its Oragadam manufacturing unit near Chennai, along with close to 120 authorised dealerships, which also resumed operations. Now, more than 90% of Royal Enfield's retail network is officially active and about 850 dealerships & service centres and 425 studio stores across the country have resumed standard operations. However, stores in certain cities are still functioning partially or on alternate days, as advised by local authority guidelines.
As the COVID-19 threat is still looming, Royal Enfield has also jumped onto the bandwagon and launched its online/digital sales & service initiatives, to make the sales & service experiences as contactless as possible. Potential customers can now browse through all Royal Enfield motorcycle models on the official website and can also book test rides online. The desired bike will then be brought to the customer's preferred address for a test ride.
Once selected, customers can then configure their motorcycle. The final-specced motorcycle will be available for review before booking it online. The customer can then contact his/her nearest dealership to continue with the final payment of the booked motorcycle (all commercial transactions at the showroom/service centres will be accepted through online/digital payments only). The motorcycle, then, can also be delivered at the customer’s doorstep.
For servicing, Royal Enfield has launched its 'Service on Wheels' initiative, that consists of a fleet of mobile service-ready motorcycles. With all the necessary tools, equipment & genuine spares, an official RE technician can take care of up to 90% of all typical service/repair requirements at the doorstep of a customer. Plus, the same service-ready motorcycles will also be deployed for providing roadside assistance. Expect the 'Service on Wheels' initiative to be in full swing by July.
Those opting for a visit to the workshop for any service/repair can also do so, as all RE workshops have also been equipped with all the necessary safety equipment.
