After unveiling the limited-run Motoverse Edition, Royal Enfield has taken the wraps off the production-spec Shotgun 650 in the US market. Like the factory custom version, the production bike is also powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine, and carries on with a similar design although it does differ from the Motoverse Edition in terms of colours. The custom-designed Motoverse Edition had an exquisite hand-painted black-blue colour scheme with neon detailing, while the production version comes in 4 different colour options – Sheet Metal Grey, Green Drill, Plasma Blue, and Stencil White.

Other than that, the production-spec Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 appears almost identical to the Motoverse Edition. Based on the Super Meteor 650, the Shotgun 650 gets a bobber-style design, featuring a low-slung stance as well as a single-piece seat with the option to carry a pillion rider.

Other notable bits on the Shotgun 650 include LED lighting, a round headlamp with a custom nacelle, chopped fenders, a new design for the fuel tank, and twin blacked-out peashooter exhausts. The styling is complemented by a digi-analogue instrument cluster with the Tripper Navigation system, a USB charging port, as well as a new Wingman feature – an in-app feature providing vital updates like fuel level, battery status, engine on/off status, and servicing alerts, all with the touch of a button.

On top of it, a diverse range of 31 Genuine Motorcycle Accessories are also offered with the Shotgun 650, allowing buyers to personalise their bikes with distinctive styling options, including bar-end mirrors, a sculpted solo seat, and contrast-cut billet rims.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Riding Ergonomics

The most prominent change compared to the Super Meteor 650 is a revised rider triangle on the Shotgun 650. The footpegs are mid-set with flatter handlebars, giving you an upright and confident riding position. On the other hand, the Super Meteor 650 gets forward-set footpegs and swept-back handlebars.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Engine and Gearbox

The production-spec Shotgun 650 uses the same 648cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine as other 650cc siblings, namely the Continental GT, the Interceptor, and the Super Meteor. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine in the Shotgun 650 produces 46bhp at 7,250rpm and 52Nm of peak torque at 5,650rpm.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Suspension, Brakes

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 shares the main frame with the Super Meteor 650 but comes with different wheel sizes. The motorcycle rolls on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels shod with 100/90 front and 150/70 rear tyres, whereas the Super Meteor comes with 19-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels.

Besides, there are a few tweaks to the suspension setup as well, thereby changing the overall geometry of the bike. However, the Shotgun 650 gets the same upside-down forks at the front (120mm travel) and twin shocks at the rear (90mm travel), both supplied by Showa. Braking duties are handled by 320mm front and 300mm rear discs, supported by dual-channel ABS.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Dimensions, Weight

In terms of dimensions, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 measures 2,170mm in length, which makes it 90mm shorter than the Super Meteor. The width and height of the Shotgun 650 stand at 820mm and 1,105mm, respectively. Furthermore, it features a wheelbase of 1,465m, which is 35mm shorter than the Super Meteor. Meanwhile, the ground clearance is marked at 140mm.

Tipping the scales at 240 kilograms, the Shotgun 650 weighs 1kg less than the Super Meteor 650. The engine in the Shotgun is fed via a 13.8-litre fuel tank.
