Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 Patent Image Shows Design Changes Ahead of India Launch
Expected to sit between the Continental GT 650 and the Shotgun 650, the estimated ex-showroom price of the upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 is roughly Rs 3.40 lakh.
Royal Enfield (RE) is working on several new bikes for the Indian market, including the Scrambler 650. A product built on the Interceptor 650 platform, it will be the manufacturer's second major launch of the year. For those unaware, the Interceptor 650 was the first bike produced by Royal Enfield using the well-known 650cc platform. The company has since launched multiple models built on this platform – the Continental GT, Super Meteor, and Shotgun. RE will likely reveal its upcoming offering, rumoured to be called, the Bear 650, at the 2024 Motoverse. The price is expected to be announced later. In a recent development, the production-ready model's patent image has surfaced, revealing nearly the entire design language.

Royal Enfield Scrambler 650: Design, Hardware and Feature Details
Although the bike in the patent image resembles the Interceptor 650, some of its components give it the appearance of a scrambler. The handlebar is distinctive and includes a brace. It is the first RE bike based on the 650 platform to have upside-down forks (USD) instead of the conventional telescopic forks. Unlike the dual exhaust system of the Interceptor, this scrambler will feature a single exhaust to keep both the weight and the price in check, maintaining authentic styling. There is also a metal guard for the header pipe.
The new Royal Enfield model will have a circular headlight and the same side panels and fuel tank as the Interceptor 650. Based on the available photos, the Scrambler 650 will have disc brakes on both ends, dual rear shocks, spoked wheels, and a round instrument console – like the one seen on the Guerrilla 450 and the Himalayan.
The bike will also get dual-channel ABS, along with a feature to turn the system off at the back, given that it's a scrambler. The previous spy photos indicated that the motorcycle would have dual-purpose tyres. Moreover, the Scrambler will offer smartphone connectivity and navigation, thanks to the TFT unit.

Expected to sit between the Continental GT 650 and the Shotgun 650, the estimated ex-showroom price of the bike is roughly Rs 3.40 lakh.
