Royal Enfield has officially announced that its scrambler-like bike will make its global debut next week, on November 5, 2024. Called the Interceptor Bear 650, the upcoming bike is Royal Enfield's fifth model with a 648cc parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine. It is expected to be positioned between the 650 twins and priced around Rs 3.40–Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom) at launch. Royal Enfield has not yet confirmed the exact launch date of the bike, but industry rumours suggest it will go on sale during the brand's Motoverse event (November 22–24, 2024) in Goa.

Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650: Design
Based on the previously leaked images, the production-ready bike has a design inspired by the scrambler. It incorporates several features from the Interceptor 650, such as a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a single-piece seat, a tubular grab rail, and a round LED headlamp. However, it sets itself apart with unique LED taillights and turn signals. The Bear 650 also features a new seat, shorter fenders, and a more compact 2-into-1 exhaust system, and updated side panels. Other distinguishing elements include knobbly tyres, wire-spoked wheels, and upside-down front forks.
Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650: Features and Hardware
The upcoming bike will include a single-pod instrument cluster, possibly a full TFT, or an analog-TFT device with Bluetooth, according to the leaked images. It could have switchable ABS (anti-lock braking system) and USB charging.
The Interceptor Bear 650's hardware consists of a steel chassis supported by twin rear shocks and upside-down front forks, both of which have greater travel than the Interceptor 650. Stopping power comes from a disc at both ends. Given that it's a Scrambler, the wheels are expected to measure 19 inches in front and 17 inches in back.
Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650: Engine
Similar to its 650cc siblings, the Interceptor Bear 650 will be powered by a 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine that can produce 46.4bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm. This unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
