Royal Enfield has announced a global recall for certain motorcycle models due to defective reflectors. The recall affects bikes that may not meet required safety standards, potentially compromising rider visibility in low-light conditions. Royal Enfield Global Recall: Key Details
The latest recall covers the motorcycles manufactured between November 2022 and March 2023. This decision, announced by the brand's parent company, Eicher Motors, follows the detection of a defect involving the rear and/or side reflectors. The reflectors in question may not meet the necessary reflective performance standards, potentially affecting the motorcycle's visibility. The company states that the issue has only been identified in a small number of manufactured units, though the exact figure remains undisclosed. It acknowledges that rider safety could be at risk if the reflectors fail to function properly in low-light conditions, reducing visibility. Consequently, the brand has opted to recall the affected motorcycles to address the problem. This precautionary step is intended to uphold the highest safety standards, ensuring the well-being of riders and adherence to safety regulations.
Motorcycles with defective reflectors will be repaired at no cost, both in India and across international markets. The company plans to carry out the replacements in phases, starting in South Korea before expanding to other markets, including the United States, Canada, India, Brazil, Latin America, Europe, and the United Kingdom. This systematic approach ensures that all affected units worldwide receive the necessary replacements to meet safety standards.
According to the company, the reflector replacement process will be swift, taking around 15 minutes to complete. Owners of motorcycles with faulty reflectors will be notified by the brand and allowed to schedule an appointment at their nearest service centre for the repair.

Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Gets New Colour Option
Royal Enfield has introduced a new paint option for its Bullet 350, priced at Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom). Named Battalion Black, this colour is priced similarly to the Military Red and Military Black variants. With this addition, the Bullet 350 now offers a total of eight paint jobs, including Black Gold, Standard Maroon, and Military Silver Red. Besides this, the motorcycle remains unchanged.
The Bullet 350 has a 349cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine, delivering 20.2bhp and 27Nm of peak torque, paired with a five-speed transmission. It features a double cradle frame supported by telescopic front forks and preload-adjustable twin-sided gas-charged rear shock absorbers. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both the front and rear, accompanied by dual-channel ABS. However, the base-spec Military models come with a rear drum brake and single-channel ABS, while the higher variants are fitted with a rear disc brake. The motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels, equipped with Ceat-sourced tube-type tyres measuring 100 and 120 sections, respectively.
