The 2023 iteration of the Royal Enfield Himalayan was launched in the domestic market at the 2023 Motoverse in Goa last week. Before this, one of the most anticipated bikes of the year made its debut at the EICMA 2023, held in Milan, Italy. For those who are unaware, Motoverse is the biggest yearly gathering for owners and enthusiasts of RE models and it served as the perfect venue for releasing the all-new Himalayan. With its official launch, the company revealed the pricing details of the adventure-tourer. Moreover, the deliveries of the model have commenced nationwide today and interested customers can reserve the same at a nominal cost of Rs 10,000. The Triumph Scrambler 400 X, the KTM 390 Adventure, the BMW G 310 GS, and the Yezdi Adventure are among the popular on-sale models in India that compete with the new Himalayan. Both adventure tourers feature a form-over-function design philosophy when we talk about the styling cues. The Himalayan, however, now has a more commanding road presence. This is a result of the model's bigger dimensions and a larger fuel tank. Besides this, several design elements such as a windscreen, a split seat arrangement, an upswept exhaust, and a circular LED headlamp are standard on both bikes.

In terms of the engine, the new Himalayan has made things more interesting. Although both engines are now liquid-cooled, the Royal Enfield model's engine is comparatively bigger. It thus churns out 39.5bhp of maximum power, as opposed to the Yezdi Adventure's 29bhp power output. On top of that, there is a significant variation in torque output. The engine of the Yezdi develops 29Nm of peak torque, whereas the all-new Himalayan's engine belts out 40Nm of torque. For transmission duties, both motorcycles come with a six-speed gearbox along with a slip-and-assist clutch.

A 200mm-travel pre-load adjustable mono-shock in the back and 43mm USD forks up front handle suspension duties. Braking is accomplished via two 320mm discs, one at the front and one at the back. The motorcycle weighs 196 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres. Further, it sports dual-purpose tyres on 21-inch front wheels and 17-inch rear wheels.

Coming to the features on board, the newly launched model offers amenities like a C-Type USB charging port, a full LED headlight, a fully digital TFT instrument console with music playback, SMS and call alerts, Bluetooth connectivity, and built-in navigation driven by Google Maps. There are also ride-by-wire, integrated turn indicators, dual-purpose taillights, two riding modes (Performance and Eco), and a Switchable ABS.
Meanwhile, the feature list of the Yezdi Adventure is also pretty extensive. It comprises dual-channel ABS, dual-channel ABS, turn-by-turn navigation, full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, and more.

Royal Enfield Himalayan vs Yezdi Adventure Spec Comparison: Price
For the new Himalayan, the mid-spec Pass variant costs Rs 2.74 lakh, while the entry-level version is priced at Rs 2.69 lakh. The more expensive Summit model, on the contrary, has a price tag of Rs 2.84 lakh (Hanle Black Paint choice) and Rs 2.79 lakh (Kamet White Paint option).
On the other hand, the least costly paint scheme available for the Yezdi Adventure is Slick Silver, which comes in at Rs 2.16 lakh. However, the Mambo Black and Whiteout colour options are priced at Rs 2.20 lakh each.
