A price will finally be put on the much awaited Royal Enfield Himalayan later today as the company has scheduled its official launch in Mumbai later today. With the Himalayan, Royal Enfield is all set to foray into the growing adventure motorcycling segment that will only grow in times to come. Royal Enfield riders need no introduction to adventure motorcycling as they have been doing it on various Enfield models for decades now. So much so that Royal Enfield is now selling their motorcycles as lifestyle commodities now. And the new Himalayan will allow the brand to start a new chapter.

Royal Enfield has recently given us a full blown experience of its new adventure touring motorcycle Himalayan, in the Himalayas. Having ridden the motorcycle, we have to say that it will break the notion of adventure bikes being synonymous to rich boys’ toys. The motorcycle is very well balanced and handles really well, is easy to ride has a comfortable suspension setup and the new LS410 engine with 24.5bhp of power and 32Nm of torque on tap proved to have enough grunt to power the motorcycle (without additional equipment) on the uphill sections. Keeping with its adventurous nature, the Himalayan is said to be capable of running 10,000 kilometers between oil changes! Some other highlights and equipment of the motorcycle include front and rear disc brakes, 220mm of ground clearance also the instrument cluster gets an ambient temperature display and compass.

Royal Enfield is expected to price the Himalayan in the range of Rs. 1.5 to Rs. 1.8 lakh during its launch.
