Only 500 units of the Himalayan Sleet will be produced. The bike is priced at Rs. 2.12 lakh (on-road, Chennai).
Very recently, we reported that Royal Enfield (RE) is on the verge of launching a new camouflage colour for the Himalayan. Now, this colour has been launched in India as the limited edition Himalayan Sleet.
While the new paint job is the most obvious change, the 500 units of the Sleet model will also come equipped with the Explorer accessory kit, which consists of a host of additions like aluminium panniers, pannier mounting rails, aluminium handlebar with cross-brace and powder-coated engine guard.
Those who are interested in the Himalayan Sleet can register on RE’s official website for a booking amount of Rs. 5,000. The limited edition model will be sold on first come first serve basis, and on January 30, RE will announce the first 500 people who have registered for the Sleet, making them eligible to pay the remaining amount and get the bike home.
The Himalayan is the first adventure tourer in RE’s lineup, which is powered by a 411cc, single-cylinder engine making 24.5bhp of power and 32Nm of torque. Very recently, the company updated the Himalayan and added a fuel-injection system to the bike to improve its refinement and throttle response.
Commenting on the launch of Himalayan Sleet, Rudratej Singh, President, Royal Enfield, said, ‘The new Himalayan Sleet is inspired by the terrain of Royal Enfield’s spiritual home – the Himalayas, its craggy land, the gorges, edgy peaks, all brought together in the colours of the sleet. Additionally, the first 500 owners will get pre-fitted Explorer Kits to help kick-start their personal expeditions on the Himalayan Sleet.’
