Royal Enfield Himalayan: Engine
The Royal Enfield Himalayan runs on a new 451cc liquid-cooled motor, dubbed Sherpa 450, which is the company's first. This unit delivers 39.5bhp of maximum output and 40Nm of highest torque at 8,000 and 5,500rpm, respectively. It is connected to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The airbox sits on top of the engine, which is angled forward, making the whole assembly more compact than the previous iteration.
Royal Enfield Himalayan: Hardware
The bike comes with an all-new twin-spar tubular frame. It has a 43mm upside-down fork at the front and a preload-adjustable offset monoshock at the rear, both of which provide 200mm of wheel travel. The bike features a ByBre-sourced 320mm disc at the front and a 270mm disc at the back for braking. It rolls on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels covered in all-new tube-type tyres. The bike also comes with dual-channel ABS as standard, which can be turned off at the rear.
