Well, its not quite here yet, but at least the cat is out of the bag. After months of speculation and a bunch of spy shots that showed the bike in it production form, Royal Enfield has finally put up official images and videos of their highly anticipated adventure bike - the Himalayan.
The Himalayan as we know it is a brand new bike from the legendary Indian motorcycle manufacturer and its gotten brand new engine in the form of a 410cc overhead camshaft engine. This engine will probably have a power output of around 28bhp and will also have less noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) than the current RE engines.
The bike also gets some very meaty off-road tyres, a high front mud-guard, telescopic forks at the front with protection covers, a nice big windshield, raised handlebars and an upswept exhaust. Then there is a completely new swingarm design and the bike also gets a rear monoshock suspension.
With this design the bike looks to be highly capable for some hardcore off-roading, and it will obviously be aimed towards adventure riders who usually make their way up to Ladakh every year. Just take a look at this video of Indian motocross rider CS Santosh giving us his feedback about the bike.
The Himalayan will be revealed to the world on Feb 2nd, so stay tuned as we bring you more information about the bike.
