Royal Enfield recently showcased the new Himalayan-based custom Flat Track 450 at the London Bike Shed Moto Show. As the name suggests, the bike is a flat-tracker, sharing the same base as the new Himalayan. It has minimal bodywork, with all non-essential road legal equipment removed, such as the lighting system and windshield. The bike appears to have a new handlebar and telescopic forks for the front suspension, instead of the USDs found on the Himalayan. Let's look at additional specifications of the custom bike that could replace the current FT411 flat tracker, based on the previous-gen Himalayan, for events and competitions.

Royal Enfield Flat Track 450: More Highlights
The bike is equipped with a small instrument panel, alloy wheels with Maxxis tyres, and race exhaust, among other feature upgrades. Royal Enfield has not yet revealed engine details for the Flat Track 450. Market reports, however, suggest that the bike will feature the same 452cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Sherpa 450 unit as the current Himalayan (39.4bhp/40Nm). It will have a reduced kerb weight, which could lead to a more impressive power-to-weight ratio.
It is predicted that the new flat tracker will weigh considerably less than the standard Himalayan 450. For reference, the current FT411 is approximately 15 kg lighter than the previous generation Himalayan, which had a weight of 199 kg.
