Royal Enfield is working toward expanding its 650cc platform and for that reason, the Classic 650 has been spotted yet again, albeit in Europe. The test mule was spied completely undisguised, indicating that the motorcycle is quite close to being production-ready. Like the smaller Classic 350, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 gets a retro design, giving us an old-school vibe with a circular LED headlamp with daytime running lights, conventional mirrors, and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank. Even the taillamp and indicators are LED units in a classic round shape. Other bits are wire-spoked wheels and a peashooter-style exhaust system.
Hardware-wise, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 uses the same tubular steel chassis as the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 – launched in India in mid-January 2024. The suspension setup of the upcoming bike consists of a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back, while the braking duties are taken care of by a single disc on either end, likely to be assisted by a dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS). These discs are mounted on wire-spoked wheels with aluminium rims.
Royal Enfield Classic 650: Powertrain
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is powered by a 648cc, SOHC, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine that also powers the Continental GT, the Interceptor, the Super Meteor, and the Shotgun. The engine, which is renowned for its smooth gear changes, strong low-end acceleration, and effortless throttle response, is tuned to produce 46.4bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of peak torque at 5,650rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a 6-speed gearbox.

Royal Enfield Classic 650: India Availability
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 has been spotted testing several times before, both in the international and the Indian market – which recently saw the Classic 650 on testing rounds. The test model spied on in India earlier this week showed the Classic 650 with a pillion seat and dual chrome exhausts.
While the Chennai-based bikemaker has yet to reveal launch details, we expect the upcoming Classic 650 to arrive on the Indian market sometime in 2024. The bike is expected to be priced between Rs 3.20 lakh and Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
