River has updated the price of its electric scooter, the Indie. The maiden model from the company, which was previously priced at Rs 1.25 lakh in 2023, has now increased in cost by Rs 13,000, with the prelaunch pricing being limited to the first 1,000 Bengaluru clients. Following this hike, the Indie now carries a price tag of Rs 1.38 lakh. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom, Bengaluru. Although the two-wheeler manufacturer appears to have been able to prevent prices from scaling drastically, it was anticipated that the significant cut in the FAME II subsidy last year would result in a substantial amount of price increases for electric scooters. Besides this, River is once again accepting reservations for the electric scooter. After the first wave of purchases, the maker halted taking reservations for the Indie last year, with prospective buyers able to get into a waitlist until bookings resumed. The token amount for booking stands at Rs 2,500. Currently, the Indie is only available to customers in Bengaluru, but in the upcoming months, the company plans to expand to other cities. The firm opened its first retail outlet in Bengaluru.
