Following the inauguration of its first showroom in Bengaluru, River in collaboration with Sri Rajarajeshwara EV Mobility has launched its first retail store in Hyderabad's Kukatpally. Spanning over 1000 sq. ft., the store is designed to offer a first-hand look at all River offerings, including accessories and merchandise. It also has on display its maiden two-wheeler, the Indie electric scooter, the deliveries of which have commenced. Interested customers can visit the store, take a good look at the company's merchandise, book test rides or purchase the Indie. The Indie is available at Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Hyderabad).
For those not aware, River revised the prices of the Indie in January 2024. With this, the Indie became Rs 13,000 more expensive than the time it was first launched (Rs 1.25 lakh, ex-showroom) in India. The River Indie is currently being offered in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Moreover, River plans to expand its footprint in other cities such as Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur, in the next few months, with an aspiration to ramp up its presence in 50+ cities by year-end.

River Indie: Specs
The River Indie is equipped with a 9bhp mid-mounted electric motor drawing power from a 4kWh IP67-rated battery pack. The battery yields a claimed IDC range of 120km. According to River, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent with a standard charger in five hours. Three ride modes are on offer as well – Rush, Ride, and Eco.

In terms of market competition, the Indie takes on the Ather 450S, Ola S1 Air, Bajaj Chetak Premium, and the TVS iQube.
